Pamayla
Her restlessness was quelled by her favorite Aunt Edna setting a box of treasures in her small lap to keep her occupied while the grownups did their do. The mangled well preserved heap of jewelry parts resided within that black velvet lined box and beckoned her attention. The attraction to these vivid colors and mixture of textures encouraged Pamayla’s sophisticated yet bold artisan design pallet.
Born and raised in Los Angeles County, Pamayla now resides in Riverside, California. She is a skilled Orthopedic Magnetic Resonance Technologist and Biomedical Technician who enjoys working with her hands. She has been designing and exhibiting her unique jewelry since 2010. The conceptual focus of her jewelry stems from a desire to add purpose to yesterday’s treasures.
Creating new jewelry and focusing on earrings only, from the new and old, modern and timely findings and beads, she has designed more than 2000 pairs of one of kind earrings in her home studio. Currently her clients have access to an average of 400 per month of her unique treasures through women’s specialty clothing boutiques, craft fairs, private parties, online sales, fashion shows, gift shops, cruise line boutiques, pop up shops, concerts and festivals. Her earrings are constructed with bold colors and unexpected combinations of textures which provide complimentary adornments to women young and old, sophisticated or basic, couture or casually dressed.
While designing earrings has become one of her most cherished creative outlets, Pamayla still enjoys recharging her artistic sensibilities now and then by indulging in culinary arts. She loves to cook and try new salad recipes. She is a newly adopted vegetarian. The color combinations of the salad ingredients often provide inspiration for new earring designs. Creative inspiration can be found anywhere, even in the salad bowl.
